There are four possible ways for you to get something to eat :

- at home if your flat has cooking equipments

- in a restaurant, but this can be expensive

- in town ; there are a lot of sandwich kiosks (prices and quality vary)

- at the university canteen "restaurant universitaire" (RU).

The university canteens offer a stable meal at lunch and dinner time at little cost € 2.80

There is always a university canteen open at week-ends and during the school holidays. In order to know which one is open consult the list on the CROUS Internet web site , or pinned up on the door or gate of your usual canteen or a list can be obtained at the Accueil Info Etudiants / Guichet Unique.

What services do the (RU) university canteens offer ?

The university canteens are of two types: "traditional" and "brasserie".

Water dispenseries and micro wave ovens to warm up your meal are available free.

1 ) The traditional channel
- Meals on the traditional channel are made up of, a small bread, a starter, menu of the day (meat or fish and vegetables), cheese (or/and a dessert).

2 ) The « brasserie » service
- The « brasserie » service offers a larger choice of meals . But the meals are more expensive than those of the traditional channel.

In Epinal the university canteens are managed by AGSU

Payment at the canteen in Nancy, in Metz and on their suburbs :

At the beginning of the academic year, each student (those enrolled in the Nancy University) is required to get their student card programmed at the canteen's cashier, in order to have a key "carte clé", either by cash (with a minimum of 10€) or by credit card, (with a minimum of 30 €). For each meal, your card will be debited of the price of the meal you have chose.
